The ATmega48PA is a high-performance, low-power 8-bit AVR microcontroller IC from Microchip Technology, designed for embedded control and electronic applications requiring reliable processing, programmable memory, digital I/O and analog interfacing. It is based on the AVR enhanced RISC architecture and can achieve up to 20 MIPS at 20 MHz, providing a good balance between processing performance and power consumption.

The device integrates 4KB of in-system programmable Flash memory, 256 bytes of EEPROM and 512 bytes of SRAM, making it suitable for compact embedded systems where program storage and data memory are required.
